Does anybody here have site statistics from a website that serves the teaching community in Korea?
I'm looking for the following info in particularly:
1. What browsers are people using?
2. What monitor resolutions are people working with?
3. What version of Flash is installed (if any)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to go with a liquid design but I don't want it to stretch out too much in IE6.
If you aren't a webmaster then how do you generally surf the internet in Korea: PC Bang, laptop, desktop at work/home? What browser do you use? What resolution is your monitor set at?

It seems IE5 and IE6 are hugely popular here, particularly in schools, pc bangs and places where teachers might access work related resources.
Things are changing but I reckon I'm going to aim for IE6 and 5. Just thinking out loud now... |

IE5 and 6 are hugely popular everywhere, unless you use the torrent/technophile group as a sample |

For Dave's:
Browser:
1. Internet Explorer 6.x 51.8 %
2. Internet Explorer 7.x 23.2 %
3. Mozilla Firefox 2.x 14.3 %
4. Mozilla Firefox 1.x 5.4 %
5. Safari 1.x 4.5 %
6. Opera 9.x 0.9 %
OS:
1. Windows XP 93.8 %
2. Mac OS 4.5 %
3. Windows Vista 0.9 %
4. Windows 2000 0.9 %
ie 5 hasn't been popular in a loooong time. You still might see 5.5, but you will see Firefox more often.
Just a guess, but screen resolution is probably safely higher than 1024x768. Just go for the liquid layout and find a hack to make maxwidth work in ie6. |

Thanks everybody for your reply BUT...
CUBANLORD.
In your first post...are you talking about IE 5/6 penetration rates? I don't understand the figures you've given me...
e.g. Europe 2.8%
Your first post doesn't make any sence to me. I like your second post (if it's accurate..thanks!)

This information is right up my alley! How did you get this information? |

ah. Sorry. That just shows the originating country of the inquirer, the number of people from that country, and the percentage of the total number of visitors. Of course this information is accurate man! What do you take me for? |

Whenever I see that "ESLTool" in your signature, I laugh. The name just cracks me up. |
Honest to goodness, I had never thought of the comical side of the domain name when I registered it. It was all going to be: easy to find, catchy, somewhat indicative of the site's content, etc. Someone soon pointed out to me that the domain name could be funny in itself. I still chuckle at the name myself quite often.
Funnier would be someone registering this gem:
