Hi peeps. Sorry if this has been posted before, and feel free to direct me to the thread, but I need to ask what's the procedure for making sure my Thai g/f gets let in the country.
Her passport already has an American entry stamp, and I'm a Brit.
Useless info no doubt, but just fleshing out the details.
I guess my school needs to sponsor her or something, no?
Cheers. |

| How long does she want to stay? I don't know the visa rules for Thai nationals, but a 90 day tourist visa may be your only bet as she cannot get sponsored by a school to be on an E-2 teaching visa. She is not from an English speaking country. I don't know the rules for Thail officially immigrating to Korea for long periods of time. Contact Korean immigration to know the rules. |

It's only a two week holiday. Should have mentioned that!
I get the impression that it's at the whim of the immigration folks.
She couldn't look less like a *beep* if she tried, and is near fluent in English.
Will that help? |

| My Thai wife has never had any problems coming into the country. I have heard of other guys with Thai GF's being hassled . I guess they think all Thai women are coming here to seek work and take away jobs from the Koreans. |

| If it's only for two weeks, I don't see the problem. Are they going to hassle every SE Asian tourist who wants to come to Korea? |

| Gf's = not easy/big hassle.....wife = no problem, you can get her attached to your visa in Bangers (free) or have her come over on a 3mo on entry visa and sort the marriage visa here (some charge) just make you have all the necessary paperwork at hand. |

She can go to the Korean embassy in BKK and get attached to my visa??
Seems daft though. It's just a 2 week vacation.... |

I think your best bet is to either get her to contact the Korean Embassy in Bangkok or you could try calling the Thai Embassy in Seoul.

She can't be attached to your visa as you're not married. |
