A mate of mine (seriously) is considering getting a fake degree in Bangkok and using it to teach in Korea. I told him he's also gonna need transcripts, university envelopes and stamps. He said that it's all taken care of, but it sounds very dodgey to me.
He reckons there's no risk as he'll do all the paperwork from Thailand. Isn't there a risk that he'll get busted in the embassy when he goes to get his degree notarized.
He has about 20 years experience in Japan, but he ended up hating the place. I just don't wanna see the guy getting a fat fine.
Oh, please, moral-high-horses need not respond.

If he gets all his paperwork sorted out in Thailand there's not much the Koreans can do if something's obviously wrong with it except tell him he can't come to Korea. Once he has an E-2 visa in his passport he should be more or less in the clear. However, if he ever gets caught here the consequences could be quite serious, including jail time. Using fraudulent documents to secure a visa is a much more serious crime than simply working illegally. |

=If he comes here and works as an illegal on a tourist visa he will probably only face a fine of 500k - 2mil and an exit order (if he can pay the fine).
=If he can't pay the fine he will be detained in am immigration detention center until he can make arrangements for payment and then removed (deported) at his expense.
=If he gets caught working with fraudulent documents he will face jail time for visa fraud and not just an immigration fine/detention. Then he will face removal (deportation) and a ban from the country of between 5 years to lifetime.
It would be better to work illegally as a tourist and even that (with 46 new arrests last week) is not without peril.
I'll save the moral high ground for others with their soap boxes. |

Isn't coming from Thailand with a degree from an obscure university a kind of red flag to Korean immigration?
And I'm sorry, moral high horses DO need to apply. Every time some idiot gets arrested having a fake degree it:
1) gets in the news and makes us all look bad
2) sometimes generates clamp downs, forcing all of us to get our asses to immigration with our degrees for a spot check
Tell him to stay the f out of Korea and don't make us honest teachers look bad. |

Not really.
I had a line on high end fake degrees.
None of the KSR BS.
Limited runs only 10 per UK university so there wasn't a market flood. Transcripts posted over in university envelopes stamped and sealed.
University apostle and a water mark on the paper
Top notch - not cheap though at 8,000B - 10,000B a pop. |

A piece of paper does not make a teacher...however, that piece of paper is important, just like the following pieces of paper; passport, birth certificate, drivers license, etc.
if a person can't follow the rules of society that the majority are following...it stands to reason that the person teaching will only avoid the other rules of society as well and wants to just skate on through life screwing over others and trying to make themself look better. |
