Many Canadians do it so no one thinks they're Americans. Rolling Eyes They just don't get the fact that Koreans assume all white people are Yankees.

Wow, that was a HOT video. I just love how fine military men are! And their bodies!!!! I think it may have to do a lot with me being an army brat, growing up in Camp Casey, then Fort Hood,TX and just "wow." Nothing sexier than a real man like that. Smile And of course, the Danielle Steele movies where all the heroine's husbands are handsome military officers.

I was surprised how the Koreans soldiers have almost the same exact uniforms as the soldiers here in TX. They have the bdu's and black berets. I remember how they switched from green camouflage caps to berets around 2001 in the U.S., because they are "an army of one." I personally think it looks way hotter than the caps they used to wear.

Well, I noticed of course the unit crest is different on the Koreans. But it looks like they even have acu's in Korea as well. I'm really sad that in a few more years, the bdu's won't be used anymore. It looks so hot. Do they also have the same class a's or dress blues?

And what is that pic of? Some macho competition? WHat's with the masks?

I have no objections to dating a Korean woman, but I'm not going to Korea to go "wife hunting". If it happens, it happens.

Though I'm not in Korea yet, from what I've seen around this forum and what I've heard about from friends and relatives that have went to Korea (in two cases marrying a Korean), it is so common that it is safe to assume they're somewhat used to it. I think some people would frown on it, I'm reading a lot about Korea and lineage seems to be very important. Not to make Koreans sound like eugenicists, but some Koreans might not be comfortable with the bloodline aspect (dating outside of the race).

Then again, I'm not in Korea yet. I'm just reading books about it.

Don't go forming opinions from what you hear on this board, matey. Better you come over here and hang for a bit before making observations/assumptions.

There are a few things on this message board that people talk about all the time, but I've never actually seen in person. One is Canadians with Canadian flag pins on their backpacks. I've never actually seen one.

Are you kidding? Have you ever been outside? Ever backpack Europe? 99% of us wear our flag on our packs if not some other form. Are you implying this is a bad thing?

I have a Canadian flag sewn on my pack for travelling around Asia because I don't want to be mistaken for a rude Korean tourist.

Ah, but how *well.* Seriously, some will give you shoot about that... even if you speak perfectly but with an accent.... which you surely do (the accent, anyway...).

Take it on a case-by-case basis, but the best advice is to ignore it.

Nice-uh

Seriously though, I have nothing but the utmost respect for a Korean/Kyopo (you're Kyopo, right?) who can take the piss on his own peeps. It's a rarity.

My girlfriend is half Chinese and is always being mistaken for a Korean since she's the Asian girlfriend and I'm the white boyfriend. Sometimes when we're out at night we'll get harassed a bit by drunks [of all ages, BTW], but she'll yell back at them in English and that usually gets them to back off.
Usually, though, it's as the others have said, just staring...

Are you saying Koreans look half Chinese? I wonder why.

Hey dude....go back in the line Very Happy

P.S I also do not believe this will work out...she should be OK, but the dude if it is his first time to be in Korea, his girl is there working & speaks the language and stuff....I can see him packing, burning out, they breaking up, etc...If they came as married, serious couple then its a different story I think. Anyway, she would be a nice catch.
