OK, someone got me thinking that perhaps gay men are generally less bothersome than the 'vaginally centric' set. So perhaps if the homosexual community can collectively demonstrate that they are less of a financial liability, we could exempt them, or at least offer a lower tax in their case.

But then we have the problem of straight guys, like jinju, Refugee and flakfizer, running around acting all camp trying to outsmart the tax-collector. So perhaps we'd need a test for that (which I'm sure daskalos would eagerly devise) to ward off tax fraud. I would also recommend spot checks on residences, to check there were sufficient Kylie Minogue and Gloria Gaynor amongt their CD collections.

Daskalos says he's pretty sure he could come up with a test or two that would keep all but the most determined tax dodgers from weaseling out of his duty. Daskalos also says he's pretty sure, given the names named in BB's quoted post, that he'd be sure to make those who petition for an exemption perfrom the tests on each other. That is, Daskolos is somewhat sure that, whatever the aesthetic merits of Jinju, et al, may be, he'd rather stick his *ick in a blender than to mix it up with any of them.

Daskalos has his standards, after all.

Tax cheats aside, though, the idea that gay men should be exempted has a lot of merit. By and large, we do not procreate. Thus, the two children we could have and still stay within the bounds of zero-population growth actually allow breeders who exceed this limit to do so with less guilt.

BB, from what I gather, you've reached your quota; I bequeath to you my unused rations.

(BB, your music collection idea had me momentarily horrified. I don't have either of those singers in my library. But then I realized that, since I do have Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand there in spades, I couldn't possibly be mistaken for a tax fraud.)

If you have a penchant for greasy, oily, hairy, brown people I have many uncles and cousins who would love to score with a gringa with JUGZ. And I'm sure they'd LOVE to hear ALL your very interesting views on feminsm and this new tax proposal of yours. Maybe you can even convince them that women should be allowed the vote or to wear pants.

No thanks, I don't fancy having you as a relative.

Now, how does that work. Does that mean I get 2 extra kids (because you're allowed to have 2) or just one, because I'd have to get the person you'd have had the kids with to agree to give up their quota too...?

Oh God, did you have to bring math into all of this?

That you get one more from me is clearly true.

You also get one from my husband, who has never spawned and won't be likely to.

This is all sort of like carbon emissions trading, isn't it?

Anyway, I suspect you want someday to have a baby girl, so I (and my husband) trade you at least two more shots at it. Good luck.

What's in it for us, though? (Oh, right, not having to change shi**y diapers, et maxima al. And less personal culpability regarding global warming. Okay, we're good.)

So, if you're really a responsible person, you'll only have one more baby, which will leave us in the black, but if you must, know that you can squirt two more out guilt-free. If you feel like naming one of them "Daskalos," that's cool, but not necessary.
