the wings didnt play well the first 2 periods but they made it a game in the 3rd though. The ducks dont have a chance against ottawa, they'll be lucky they win one game. Most people in edmonton hate chris pronger so edmonton fans will be hoping for ottawa even though the ducks have alot of canadian players. Why the hell did the ducks leave the ice and not stay for the championship trophy presentation? They didnt even take it to the dressing room? That was pretty unclassy and chelios left the ice and didnt shake hands like the rest of the team did? disgraceful. |

Dude... if you think Anaheim is going to be lucky to win *1* game against Ottawa... you don't know shit about hockey.
Ottawa is going to be the underdog in Vegas.
But you're right. The Wings didn't show up for the second period. They were nice in the first, I didn't see the first goal though. They had more than a few chances to win the game and didn't capitalize, just like the last game. Wouldn't say they were outplayed, just that they didn't want it bad enough. |

Yes, you were right about who was in the finals by the hair of your teeth.
Ottawa winning in 4 or 5 games is never going to happen.
If, IF, Ottawa wins they're looking to take it 6, if not 7 games. |

I hate jinxing anything, but the reason Ottawa will/should win is seen in tonight's box score. Anaheim had 5 players who essentially played 5 minutes or less when it gets averaged out. That's simply too many players, not playing enough minutes at the end of playoffs to match up well against a team with Ottawa's depth of speed and skill. They're also missing Kunitz, a 25 goal, 60 pts player in the regular season. |

Just like they weren't good enough to take it 7 games aganist New Jersey (who was a hell of a lot better than Ottawa has ever been)?
Oh, and while you're right freethought, lots of players don't see icetime... you have to factor in that between Pronger and Niedermayer (who was on the 03 NJ team) they are playing the entire game.
Ottawa doesn't have a solution for either player...though their offense does tip the scales.
Giguere is better than Emery hands down. |

It's not unclassy, its NHL superstition. If you touch the trophy for winning the conference, it is believed you will not win lord Stanley's cup. Last time a player touched the Prince of Wales Trophy or Clarence Campbell Bowl, I believe, it was Iginla in 2004. The Flames lost in 7 games. Before that, in 2002, I think a Carolina player touched the Prince of Wales Trophy, and they lost to the Wings.
By the way, did any Ottawa player touch the Prince of Wales Trophy? |
