My old employer is angry about me leaving my job and not wanting to stay for another six months. Long story short she made up awful lies about me to this agency. The agency posted what my old director said on the "teacher blacklist". None of what my director said was about my teaching style. |

Can you post the link to this teacher blacklist? Not that I am worried about being on the list. I would like to read what they write about people. Also if I have it saved under bad agencies under my bookmarks I will remember. And why did you leave early? |

With the Zenkimchi guy getting sued for libel for telling the TRUTH, can an ESL teacher sue for something like this transgression? |

I didn't leave early... my contract was six months. I didn't want to stay another six months and they got pissed. Apparently blacklisted me at immi too. Not sure what to do about that now. Errr... |

Complete BS.
As for the other black list, it is only for the Korean Teachers Association. Immigration couldn't care less who's on it. If you'd ever read it, and seen some of the garbage that passes as reasons to put you on the list, you'd understand why. |

You will be able to sue the poster for libel (if you have enough evidence). Contact the police station in Korea and say what was posted was unfair and that there is no evidence by the poster (unless they can dispute it otherwise i.e. evidence). The police would then be on the case and you will notice this list will disappear very quickly. |

I am back in a week. I think I will print it and take it to the police.

This sort of thing happened to my good bud, too.
Thanks for the tip.

How the hell can you get blacklisted at immi? Surely it isn't simply because a director complains. |

How about a little truth here. You went to Yatap in January.

Well I thought I would give Korea another chance. This time I am in Yatap but so far it seems pretty boring. I never see other foreigners. Is anyone else in Yatap? What do you do for fun? Thanks!
You have worked less than 6 months at this job and you have pulled a runner. Your employer claims you owe more than 6 million won. You broke your contract by working less than 6 months, looks like 4 1/2. |

How about a little more truth here. You have been blacklisted twice in 9 months. The problem is you, not your bosses.
http://www.kftra.co.kr/
You are number 68 and number 25 on the blacklist.

Still more truth. You came to Korea for the first time in June of 2006. You have had 3 jobs that are known, maybe 4.
The first job you were going to be fired after less than 2 months. You agreed to stay for a letter of release, then pulled a runner. Their lawyer has been looking for you. You owe them 13 million won. Plus damages for libel.
You ran to Japan, changed "socks" and came back to Korea. You worked a second job, never got legally registered, and got fired. You ran back to Canada.
You may have worked illegally inbetween here. We're still investigating.
You got this last job. Your teaching was unsatisfactory and you brought many problems with drinking and various boyfriend troubles. You pulled another runner.
We are now coordinating a joint investigation and legal action with your past employers.
New charges will be filed with the Korean Immigration Officers. |

You lied on your resume that you used for this last job. You claimed to have completed contracts. That fake document was filed with the Korean Immigration Officers to secure your visa. You have committed immigration fraud, contract breach, slander and libel. You have hurt many innocent Korean businesspeople and students. You do not belong in Korea. It's likely Canada doesn't want you back either. You lied about your position there too. |

There it is. In only 11 months you have been fired twice, pulled two runners, been out of work at least 3 months, owe nearly 20 million won to your former employers, and you have been blacklisted twice by your recruiters. You go on and on about boyfriend troubles, fights, job troubles, coworker troubles, losing your clothes when drinking, when will it end. Go back to mommy. Grow up. |

Wow.
Quite a situation there.
I looked at the KFTRA site, and checked out their blacklist. I know a couple of people on there............
But, like many foreign teachers, do ya'll think some recruiters post a teacher there to cover their buts on some issues? What can teachers really do if they find themselves on that list, for something that is either not true, petty, or misleading?
Wait........so an agency can say horrible things about a teacher, but a teacher can't post information without the fear of getting sued? It seems some recruiting agencies are playing the game of "C.Y.A.". And, is their site/organization legal? |
