Do I need to visit a Consulate in my home country to get a tourist Visa? Reason is, I'm going home for a few weeks, but coming back without having a job, as I have some interviews lined up for some decent jobs when I come back. Basically I'm looking at perhaps 2 weeks without a job until I complete the interviews and whatnot. Or do they do the tourist visas/stamp at Incheon when I come back?

It would depend on your country.

Can you get an extension?

Two weeks shouldn't be a problem.

If you are from a country that can get an E2 for teaching English you can enter without a visa as a tourist for between 30 and 180 days.

US = 30 days.
Canada = 180 days.
The rest = 90 days.

You will have to make a visa run after you sign your new contract and BEFORE you start work.

Contrary to the advice of the poster above, you do NOT want to extend your current visa because it will tie you to your current employer.

Thanks. Saves me some running around on my forced vacation (I'm only going because my Pubic School demanded to purchase the end of contract ticket instead of just reimbursing me).
