I work for a public elementary school in Seoul (Seongdong district). I was told I have two choices for summer camps.

1) Work at an elementary student camp (during the day, not stay over), and be one of 9-11 native teachers. The camp is 2 weeks long. The pay is less, but I wouldn't have to stay overnight, and it's still in Seoul.

2) Apply to be one of 3 elementary school teachers chosen to work at the middle school camp. Benefits are that there is more pay, but it's a stay overnight for 20 days thing, and in some other province. I'm an elementary teacher, so on one side it would be nice to have older kids, but on the other, I haven't worked with them before and it might be difficult.

Anyone done one or the other (or both) and have an opinion as to what is best? I need to decide in 30 minutes.... friggin last minute!

I think I'd personally rather do the "sleep-over" camp if only for the experience ... It would let you experience something other than Seoul ...
But then you know what is most important to you ... I would take the extra money and experience and then be able to come back to Seoul and make use of it. It is a risk ... but I think probably worth it .... If you want to take it ...

One thing holding me back from that idea is that my co-teacher said she believes that at the niddle school camp you have to sleep on the floor for 3 weeks, and she isn't sure whether a shower is provided for the foreign teachers. She said I might have to "explore" the area really early every morning to find a jimjilbang. That thought kind of irks me.

Most will have private shower stalls with curtains. If not, shower late or early when everyone else is sleeping.
