Ah, Jane Goodall. Met her at the World Bank in Wash DC. She was giving a presentation. Yeah, her talk started with monkey calls. She sounded kind of kooky at first, but it was so realistic it was amazing.

I met Barry and Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees at Manchester University. Great guys, very friendly and spent a lot of time talking to fans and signing autographs.

Wow, I have a long list. I met Vinnie Paul in person in a club in Dallas. He introduced himself, and there were 3 or 4 guys behind him wearing Pantera shirts. I asked him, are you that famous guy, and you're in a rock band or something? Is your band's name Pantera? He walked off acting like he didn't hear me or maybe he really didn't. His guys walked off behind him, while the last one paused to look at me up and down. Then he rolled his eyes and walked off. I guess that's a yes.

I looked Pantera up online and I felt even more embarassed. I felt so bad. I didn't listen to heavy metal so I didn't know. I met Dimebag too in person. He's such a nice guy. It's so sad what happened to him though. I remember after he was shot in a club, they had a memorial party at his club. Then lot of Pantera fans had the Dimebag t shirts. I'd look at his pictures, and it's so crazy I met him in person and of course, just like Vinnie, I didn't know who he was either. Just thought he looks like Vinnie, yea they're brothers. I know that now. I'm glad they killed that crazy nutjob that murdered Dimebag. ALso talked to one of their bodyguards. They are all so nice. He asked my name and what nationality I am. I guess people can't tell what I am just by looking at me. Then he was like, "wow we toured Korea before." He was in Seoul. Was a very short conversation.

I've seen so many famous people in Dallas clubs. Courtney Love is one. She looked like a normal person, and didn't have that celebrity look. No one recognized her until the dj said so.

I saw Joe Rogan from Fear Factor and Uncle Jessie from Full House on separate nights in an Austin club. Oh yea, John Stamos. Everyone was so starstruck. I grew up watching uncle Jessie! I couldn't believe I was looking at him in person even from far away. Never thought I' d get that opportunity. Well, needless to say, people swarmed up to them all night. I was scared to do anything like that. THey'd probably get annoyed with that and the whole autograph/pic request.

I saw Motley Crue with Tommy Lee. People were going absolutely crazy. "Oh my God! Pamela Anderson's Tommy Lee. He's in here. OMG!" THat's all everyone talked about that night in this club I was at in Dallas. "Do you know how big they are?" Like I don't know. I guess if you want to see famous people, going to clubs in Dallas helps a lot.

I've also seen Linkin Park. THat club turned into a mess. So crowded you couldn't even walk. I bet everyone called their friends freaking out about LInkin Park. Slipknot was there too while Linkin Park was there. I was happy but of course, no way I can get through that crowd. Lot of people were frustrated by the crowdedness. It was standing room only for the most part. I love all their songs.

I also saw all of the Dallas Stars. They came in all as a group, stood around drinking and left altogether. Everyone was freaking out over that too. I saw lot of the Dallas Mavericks on a different night. Sometimes, I get so starstruck, thinking to myself of how these people are so big, and they come out on tv all the time. I don't know how to act. I actually got to talk with one of the coaches for a little bit. I want the Dallas Mavericks to win all the time. Even though I'm in Austin now , but people don't really seem to go too much for the San Antonio Spurs anyways.

I met some group who wrote the Dallas Maverick's theme song. It was a white guy who is the lead singer and a really cute black guy with long braids. I forget their band name. I saw them in Austin while they were touring. I was talking to the black guy. He said he's toured Korea recently and he had some he didn't change back to American currency. I can't remember their group name. There are so many Dallas Maverick theme songs too. He said the driving in Korea really scared him. Then I told him I was there as an armybrat a long time ago. My dad said that Koreans are the worst drivers in the world. I was just saying that because he mentioned the drivers freaked him out over there. He says he believes my dad. Really nice guy. Talking to him made me miss Dallas a lot.

I talked to one of the UT Austin football players. At least they're somewhat like celebrities here. I don't recall his name though. Also met 2 of the NY hockey players called The Rangers. I don't watch sports so they had to tell me. THen I feel bad that I don't recognize celebrities all of the time. At least I didn't make a fool out of myself like I did with Vinnie Paul.

Then I was in a club when VH1 crew came to this club in Dallas to film something about nightclubs. I talked to the cameraguy for awhile. I was like wow. I watch a lot of vh1. I was thinking what if maybe one of these days, what if I see a special on clubs, and I see myself in the background.

I used to know a girl from The Man Show. Kathryn SMith. She's Vietnamese/White girl. Just so beautiful, perfect face, body, and the sweetest personality. Lot of girls loved her. She's so beautiful that I can imagine people being jealous over her looks, but no one can hate her she's so sweet. One of the sweetest person I've ever met. I wonder how she can be so positive and sweet all the time. Always said hi to me and hugged me when I've seen her even though I didn't know her that well personally. I used to watch Man Show just to see her bounce on the trampoline and doing the juggy thing. She's on the new Reno 911 movie. If I could have anyone's body in the world, it'd be hers. S o perfect. I'm not gay, but we all have those dream bodies. She was on some magazine as "date of the month." I think it was fhm or something like it. She's one of the main models for Forplay Catalog.

There is a model that used to live in Dallas named Masuimi Max. I saw her a lot; she used to bartend where my cousin waitressed. I saw her in the new Triple x movie. She's some guy's gf. She had no lines, just looking pretty for the camera and sitting around with her movie bf. She's half Korean. I asked her about what background she is. She said she has a Japanese name because of her dad. He likes that name for some reason. But her father is German and mom is Korean. So both of those ladies are half asians and so hot. They truly got the best of both worlds.

I saw Dave Chapelle at the UT Erwin Center in Austin. It's where they play basketball games. I was so excited! It was so fun. Everyone I knew around the area tried to get the tickets, but they sold out fast. Lot of my internet friends were there though. So during the show, I was thinking it's funny lot of the internet people are here somewhere, but I don't know exactly where.

He was so funny. He was smoking during the show even though it's illegal to smoke inside public places in Austin. I guess it doesn't matter because he's Dave. Anyways, his jokes were all about sex & masturbation mostly, and the v a g i n a . He said he wish he can just carry it around and clean it up like a toy. The joke I remember well is the one when he said his wife gets mad at him and he's masturbating all over the house. He was acting like he's eating a cereal, reading the newspaper and masturbating all at the same time. And trying not to get caught. It was so funny.

Then he was saying that he has to inspect pornos before masturbating to them. Because one time when he was about to finish, the guy's balls were smacking against the tv screen. The way he complained about it was so funny. THen not only did he have the guy's balls smacking up against the screen, but Snoop Dog came out, and he's like wtf is Snoop doing in a porno? There should be a warning so he's not cumming to some guy's privates and Snoop.

AFter the show was over and all that crazy loud clapping and all, he came back to prolong the show for a few more minutes . He said we're a good crowd, everything is bigger and better in Texas, and some other stuff about TX. HE had another show to do, I think at Ponderosa or something ROsa. I believe it's somewhere around 6th st. Everyone was going crazy happy over Dave. BUt who doesn't like Dave. He's the funniest man on earth.

My friend was crying from laughing too much. We couldn't take any recorders or cameras. I wish that there is a tape of that show somewhere. IF so, I've never seen it on Comedy Central. We bragged to everyone about it before and after the show. We felt so special to go to the show. Then, someone dressed up as Tyrone Bighams on the front row. Dave got all excited and asked the cameraman to zoom into the guy and how his outfit is exactly like the one he wears for the show. He was even scratching his neck, doing the whole crackhead thing and everything. Then at the end, som e guy asked him to go to a stripclub. Dave gave the card back to him an d said how he loves his wife and he doesn't believe in stripclubs. And that one time he went, he was reading a book and blowing everyone off, then finally got kicked out for doing that. It's too bad that there are only 2 seasons of The Chapelle Show. It's one of the shows I watched faithfully all the time.

For awhile my parents lived in Lakeside, Montana (population 600), a beatiful little town on Flathead Lake about 30 miles from Glacier National Park. The area has become a 2nd home to quite a few celebrities, as it is pretty isolated and the local Montana culture values privacy and doesn't go apeshiite when they see someone famous.

The last time I was there, I flew in on the same plane as John Lithgow. Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake had just built a cabin up the road from my parent's house and I ran into them in drag (sunglasses and ridiculous hats) at the tiny grocery store there. Phil Jackson was taking some time off after winning another championship, would frequent the local bar, and even showed up at my brother's middle school basketball game. I guess he was bored or missed the action! Haha. But he was really cool to all the kids and signed my brothers shoe. My favorite encounter was seeing Ali Larter (Nicki/Jessica from Heroes) at the drive-in movie theater. At the time she was a minor celeb really only known for the "Final Destination" movies. Astoundingly beautiful in person. My sister told me Heath Leger and his wife have since bought a place in the area and are seen frequently.

Far down the list on celebrity encounters...George W. Bush was the speaker at my University commencement and shook my hand as I walked across the stage to receive my diploma. Uggh!

Seeing some celeb in a bookstore or serving them a coke in a restaurant hardly qualifies one to an opinion on the celeb's character.
Real celebrities are often putting on the face the public "buys". Don't confuse their public personas with reality.

For example: calling Kiefer Sutherland a jerk based on a 2 second encounter. Or, claiming Joe Perry is a nice guy because he shops at a bookstore. How lame.

Ah, fair enough, but you know what they say about first impressions.

Anyway, I'm curious about your own brushes with fame and personal opinions. Do share!

my "brushes" with the famous and near-famous would read like a who's who book. I won't bore you with my list of celebs. I would rather you like me for who I am, not who my grandfather was or who my mother knew. OOps, i mean who my brother blew.

While working as a flight attendant, I had these ppl on my flights:

-Jamie Lee Curtis (she was super nice- nodded and smiled to her fellow passengers in first class)
-Howie Mandel (slept the whole flight)
-Lady who does a voice for the Simpson's and used to be on Newhart

While working at the Boston Chart House:

-Nancy Kerrigan (whose husband is an arse and seemed to control her quite a bit, IMO)
-Drew Bledsoe (was still driving a beat-up old suburban from high school, despite his $$$. Seemed very down-to-earth)

-Yo Yo Ma (when I worked at a The Other Side Cafe in Boston)
-Chris Trapper from the Push Stars (worked together at the same cafe)

-some guy from the Portland Trailblazers (when I worked at the PDX Chart House)

-saw Andre Kim at Hyundai Dept. store with a posse of straping young men. Very creepy.

- worked with Jake, the Korean guy who is on a lot of English learning tv programs.

- worked as an extra in a Daniel Henney movie. He is FINE. Didn't talk to him, though, cuz I wasn't in the scene he was filming that morning.

Well, that was really boring. Can't you simply give a few names and your opinions? You don't have to go into lengthy details. I'm really curious. Sure, by all means, bore me to death if you will.

BTW, I don't like people because of their fame or fortune. I like people based on the level of respect that they generally earn.

Okay, now what about your opinions? Maybe try using adjectives near each name.

I used to work as an service rep for a casino company. People I saw and met there with gambling problems: Ben Afleck, Dustin Hoffman, Charlie Sheen, Dr. Dre, Suge Knight, Randy Jackson (Michael's bro), Cecil Fielder . . . the list goes on and it was all strictly business. In fact, we had to sign an affidavit that we are not to ask celebrities about their jobs, lives or out them if they are hidden or we would get fired.

Since I am also from L.A., I went to many sitcom tapings. They pay you for those things and there is also a lot of opportunity to meet famous people.

I also used to take martial arts for five years and here are the names of some famous martial artists I have talked to or trained with/took tips from(these names are only famous in martial arts circles): Fumio Demura, Maasaki Hatsumi, Kemo, Chris Casamassa, and Chong Chul Rhee.

I've hung out with Korean celebrities and one of my close relatives is a major political and business figure in Canada. That's all you'll get out of me.

seoulshock,

You're neighbor to all these celebrities? Are your parents rich?
