Here's a question:

I was wondering if it is possible for a boss to cancel his employee's work visa, without the employee knowing about it?

Doesn't the employee have to hand in his ARC when the work visa is canceled?

I don't see how it would be possible without forgery being involved.

Yes, the boss can cancel it, but he will give you an exit order from immigration. Otherwise, he can't get a new waygook.

Right... but what if the employee has no contact with the boss? If he were to cancel it, how would the employee know that he has 14 days to leave Korea?

If you have no contact with your boss, then what are you doing?

If you were at work (where you are legal) you would have contact.

If you are not there, then you must have quit work and are obligated to report that fact to immigration yourself (and you would then get your exit order)

or

if you quit and did NOT inform immigration you LEGALLY have 14 days to leave the country.

If you don't AND your boss reports you as having quit then you will be in breach of immigration law and as an illegal migrant worker you would be subject to fines, detention and possibly deportation or being banned as a "persona non grata."

Ignorance of the law is not an excuse or a defence (here or in your home country) for a breach of the law.

I hope your question is of a hypothetical nature. Good luck to you.
