| There seem to be so many uncertainties surround the whole thing. And atleast in my mind, common sense points me in a different direction. I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination. I am just a bloke that teaches current events and has a different opinion to most it seems. If I am wrong, I don't give a rats ass. I just don't think that people should so blindly follow what others are saying. Even the smartest people are wrong at times. Koreans are followers and I thought most of us were more free-thinking. Maybe I was wrong..... |

The problem with Ball and FOS is that they take great care and all effort to try to HIDE their ties to oil and gas. If there is nothing to hide, why act so surrupticiously?
If there is something to hide, you'll forgive us for acting credulous.
But I mean REALLY, do you think Tim Ball is going to say, "Yes I'm involved with the Friends of Science. We are a grassroots organization that has a great deal of backing from the oil and gas industry. I am also an executive member of the NRSP. Sure we have a confidentiality agree which bars us from telling you exactly how much money we get from oil and gas, but have no fear. I can assure you that we get the exact right amount".
These are ASTROTURF organizations. Don't kid yourself into thinking anything else.
I'm all for a credible, responsible look at the science but be honest about it.
Let's just take a look at this FANTASTIC little gem from the Friends of Science website:
No offense to those who got suckered, but you would have to be completely ignorant of science to look at that graph and think, "Wow. Look at how much temperature variation there was".
I can't imagine that a friend of science would be so prepared to use such shoddy "data" (and I use the word "data" even though there are basically no numbers on that graphs whatsoever), to help their friend. |
