I tried to run a search on this school but came up empty. I am currently searching for my first job and I am having anxiety about choosing the wrong place. I have already turned down offers from places with bad reps on Dave's (Kids College etc) and would appreciate any scoop people might have on the following.
BR English School, Junggye-dong, Nowon-gu, Central Seoul.
Thanks in advance.

Try putting the name of your school in the title. More people will see it that way as not everyone will take the time to click and see if they know the mystery school. |

Thanks for your help Smee! I don't know why I can't seem to get my search to work. Argh. Anyway, it sounds bizarre, or maybe just bizarre to westerners? I am simply paralyzed with indecision. If anyone has actually worked there, I'd love to talk but thanks for responses so far. |

Take a few minutes to read the threads I posted above. At least one of the posters worked at one of the campuses, so maybe you could PM him and ask more details. Also, remember to get contact information from teachers who are working at your campus now. I guess the stuff posted earlier is the most sensational aspect of the school, but if you're still interested make sure you get precise information about working hours, lessons, students' levels, overtime, vacation, apartments, etc.
This is just my opinion, so it's not exactly gospel, but I'd probably pass on this offer. Yeah, incorporating yoga and spirituality into one's life may assist in picking up skills like English. (Yeah, it probably does help). But I don't know if I'd want to be molded into an English shaman, and I would feel uncomfortable so rigorously pushing spirituality on children, whether in a Sunday school or in a hagwon. There are tons of "ordinary" hagwon out there, so much so that you can work anywhere in the country you want. I think you may benefit more from teaching in a regular classroom. |

Guys, how many times do I have to talk about this school? IT IS A KNOWN CULT. I have posted many times about this school. I went through hell with this crazy place: thier religious indoctrination of children, having me working illegally the entire time, and losing my diploma just to spite me. If anyone would like to know more information, then just pm me. I will do all I can to protect any other teacher from these crazy nutjobs.
-Thanks |
