|
|
Hello,
I'm pretty new to Korea (arrived in April) and I see that there is a veg club in Seoul - are there any veg groups in the Gwangju area? Is anyone interested in forming one? I was a member of a veg group back in the U.S. and back then, I was more vegan (in Korea, I've reverted to ovo-lacto... and I have accidentally ingested mystery meat in meals prepared by co workers etc.)
I'm also Korean-American and am not fluent in Korean, (makes things confusing when I try to explain I don't want meat).
I'm not an overly picky, militant vegetarian - I prefer to be polite and try to eat around the meat if it's present in dishes prepared by others but it would be great to commune with others who are trying to stay meat-less.
Also, are there any Indian/Pakistani, etc. restaurants in Gwangju??????
Thanks!

Random: Speaking of delightful veggie food, can you get falafels in Anyang? |

I don't know about felafel in Anyang.. it's nowhere in Anyang that I've lived (Pyeongchon/Beomgye), but it's pretty easy to make: http://www.recipezaar.com/16400
I'm sure other, simpler, recipes exist. These sorts of ingredients can be bought at the foreign food market in Itaewon, which is not too too far from Anyang. You can also get pita bread there. A good dip for felafel is not too hard to make either.. plain yogurt, a bit of mayo, salt and pepper, cucumber, and dill. Chill for a few hours. |

There are a few places to get falafel in Itaewon area like Pita Time, Pharaohs and Petra but not Anyang. |
