| Wow - Gelken has gone from lame-assed to producing some great articles in a short space of time. I'm really quite impressed. He seems to be well on top of this situation and many others. |

Yeah hunt down those nasty foreigners, good article.
I liked the hypocrisy of Mun Yei-seung who spoke for the Daejeon Foreign Language Association (DFA)

He also goes on to excuse the non payment of health insurance by claiming many of their students have doctors as parents and can treat them cheaply

Wow, these people really are above the law and he just admitted to not paying health which is a crime whether the teacher and director are happy or not. Think someone should tip of the local health insurance agency to go check his books, what's his school name? ah, Yang G ELS in Daejeon.

Chris Gelken is a well-respected journalist. He's been around the Asia scene for quite some time. In fact he used to host BizChina on CCTV9 (man, that takes me back to my student days  )
We are really lucky to have someone like him on our side. |

I seem to remember a few of his first articles leaving me feeling a bit uninspired, but I guess it takes everyone a while to get a feel for the land. The English language press here is in desperate need of well-respected journalists, to be sure. |

Hells bells....look at the sign attached to the bus....and I might add, correct usage of English words is not someone's forte' obviously......koreans DO need FT's!
The sign reads: You Are Being Watched, Private tutoring of English is a Legal Offense!
OK......Why be watched if its legal, koreans?!?
The correct word should be illegal. |
