I have a Korean credit card and I do it all the time. Some websites (like Cathay Pacific) will NOT let you do it on-line, you have to go through a real live agent or phone their ticket office. |

They (Cathay) have some new security verification for their ON-line booking and most foreigners that I have spoken too can't use it with their Korean credit cards.
I had to call the ticket office in Seoul to pay by CC last month when I went to HK and I tried a couple of different cards (Samsung VISA and Woori bank VISA) so it wasn't just the one card.
The Korean cards were fine when I paid by phone and they worked fine in HK at the restaurants, hotels and shops.
They also worked fine for on-line booking / paying when I used them with Westjet when I went to Canada last February and with Singapore air in Jan.
Just my personal experience for what it's worth. |

I just used it to book a ticket through Eva Air. It says on the website to make sure to present the same credit card you paid with at the check-in counter for verification, or else they won't let you board. If you can't present the card, you have to purchase another full price ticket to get on the plane. It's a security measure I'm fine with actually, since it just means nobody else could claim to be me without that card. I know, highly unlikely, but I'm fine with it. |
