I am interested in doing my next contract in Jeju. Could anyone recomend or warn me off of any schools/recruiters? I've heard mixed reviews of the place, but it sounds like a Korean experience different from the Seoul one... which I'm tired of. It'd be nice to get away from the pollution and popluation.
Payce,

Hi I can defininitely tell you where not to work in Jeju. For the most part I would say avoid Hogwons. Epik will be recruiting for August and I would say that is by far your better option in terms of money, security and no bull. P.m. me if you want more details.

I'd have to agree. While I've never worked there, I've been scouting the employment conditions at Korean schools for years. Hakwons and universities on Jeju pay below par and generally ask for more work. Go with the public schools or don't bother with the place. |
