My husband and I have just moved to Gangnam in Seoul, and looking into cable.

So I saw this: http://english.seoul.go.kr/residents/info/info_08comm_02.htm

What is the difference between cable tv and cable broadcasting? I read through some of the other forums and noticed that folks recommend "digital". Which one is that?

I want to watch as many American channels and BBC channels as possible. Which one should we get?

I have cable tv through a company called C&M. www.cnm.co.kr They have an English speaker that can be reached at 02-2036-9494. Their analog service used to have CNN, but it has recently been changed over the the digital servie. With the digital service you also get BBC world, Australian Channel, NBC news, and about 5-7 channels that have English movies with Korean subtitles, (but these channels also have Korean movies too.)

I pay 40,000 won for cable and internet. There is also another company called Qrix www.qrix.com Not sure whether there is an English speaker at Qrix though.

Hope it helps.

I would go digital by the way. More channels, slightly better picture, and it is only 10,000 won more per month.

hey thanks, it doesn't look like C&M provides service to gangnam.
We can't make heads or tails of the qrix site. I have Korean font on my computer but for some reason, the page isn't loading right so I can't read it.

We're guessing that neither "cable tv" nor "cable broadcasting" is digital?

qrix phone number is 02-999-5555, but again, I don't know if anyone speaks English there.

And Cable tv can be digital. It is either digital or analog. Not sure what cable broadcasting is. I haven't heard of the term before.

Thanks!

We'll try qrix.

"Cable broadcasting" is what's on that web page I'm referring to.
