Is it true if you study Korean at certain institutions you can get a student visa? If this is true, does anyone have any information on good places to study?
Also is there a minimum hours per week you must study to qualify and how long does the visa last?

Saharzie,
Yes, you will be able to get a student visa if you enrol in a Korean language program. You don't need to study at a university to get a student visa - a korean language program with a private language academy should provide you with a student visa.
Click here to view a list of universities in Korea where you can study Korean. Click here to view a list of classes available at language academies & universities in and around Seoul.
Here are some posting from Dave's about learning Korean and the different language courses available.
Learning Korean
1. To Study Korean - where's the best?
General Consensus is that Sogang is the best.
2. Sogang Korean Course for Waygookin
More info to back the previous thread up.
3. Chosun University Korean Class
Chosun University is in/near Gwangju... skip it if you're not interested.
4. Learning the Korean Language
General waffle about how hard or easy it is to learn Korean.
5. Korean Language Resources
This is (mostly) a collection of links to online Korean programs.
Edit: One of the language academy programs I looked at (Ganada) help you out with a three month visa. |

To get the student visa you need a Korean sponser with 10,000,000 won in the bank to guarantee you. this info is from a few years ago and may have changed. |
