Crap like this is the exact reason that I try to avoid female friendships. I have 3 women that I consider good friends and it's exactly because of this kind of insanity. I hate the drama!

OP- You are a woman. Obviously. Only women care about all of this "I hate her because..." and "...then she said I was too fat and she's not that beautiful and her boyfriend is cute..." blah, blah, blah. If they are your friends, then they need to find husbands or girlfriends or lifepartners or whatever else they might use to put their time to better use.

Sorry to have to break it to you that way.

no, i'm most certainly a man. i just was pointing out the 'plaintiff's' motivation for launching a BS suit against my friend, the BS feelings that drive her motivations, and the way it is affecting my friend.

quit mussing up my thread with your unique brand of stupidity.

여자들이란......

That's the commonly used term for this.

Definitely don't pay. Unless the girl being sued is foreign and the plaintiff is Korean. In that case, she will lose the case.

The "*beep*" should sue the old girl for calling her a *beep*.

update - the advice i gave "s" ended up being the right one. i told her to talk to some legal authority before she agreed to pay anything.

she went to the police, and played a recorded message of "d" saying "if you just give me 3 million won, i won't sue you and you won't use your job."

the police said that this constitutes theft under korean law, and so "d's" lawsuit is now rather impotent.

"s" is not going to pay, and if "d" freaks out, "s" has a trump card. "s" feels very relieved, but it seemed to both of us that the libel law could be abused in a similar way as the blood money law here.

happy times.
