We need our own thread for this topic.

I can't think of anything we say, but other people are saying

1. Canada is a bilingual country.
Truth: Most people speak either English or French, bot not both.

2. Canada has great and clean nature.
Truth: Canadans throw away more garbege than Americans.
Our rivers are very poluted

3. Canada is a large country.
Truth: No. Unless you count the unuseable frozen parts.

Canada is not reliant on the American economy to keep it going.

I think a more amusing/telling thread would be some of the things Canadians say about America.

Now, if this thread was, "Things Canadians go on and on about" I would agree with you.

Canadians are so loved around the world.

Fact: Most of the world don't have a clue about Canada, so it's hard for them to an opinion PERIOD, good or bad.

"Fact" Canadians are very polite....

.....until they get drunk when they become belligerent, creepy nationalist weirdos.

I used to date a Canuck girl. She was always keen to point out which things/people/commodities were Canadian. For example, I'd be playing a song by The Tragically Hip and she'd start up: "Hey, did you know they're Canadian? They play them all the time on the radio in Canada. In Canada we have quotas to play Canadian artists on the radio, so you hear a lot of Canadian music. Like Bryan Adams. Did you know he's Canadian? And Alanis Morissette. They're Canadian, just like The Tragically Hip, so you hear them all the time in Canada."

One of the more amusing things I hear from Canadians sometimes is that they don't have an accent different from that of most Americans. Right. It's always evident they're from Canada when they apologize and say that they're "sore-ey."

Sorry. My bad for not giving the details.

1. Outiside of Montreal, Ottawa, and New Brunswick, the majority of people only speak English. French is hardly recognized outside of Quebec. For example: I was surprised that there were no French information signs in the Dufferin Mall, a major mall in Toronto. They had information signs in English, Italian and Chinese. I guess they figure no one speks French in Toronto. That's basically true.

2. Canadian families produce more garbage per capita than American families.

3. 80% of Canadians live within a 90 minute drive of the U.S. border. With a population that's only about 10% of America's, I'd say people are stretching it a little to suggest that we're such a big country. Include the frozen land that we don't use and I guess you're right.

I like what was said by Trudeau. When America sneezes, Canada catches a cold. Very true.
