I'm not in Korea yet, but I found a couple very authentic Korean restaurants in my area. I just don't have any clue what to order there. Last time, I had a Pork and Kimchi stir-fry that was mighty good. What should I try next time I go? |

I cant help with what meat to try, but you can't go wrong with plain simple bibimbab.
I would also recommend trying anything with ojingo (squid) in it.
Come to think of it anything served in a Dolsot is usually prettyt damn good. |

I love food in korea so much, its heaven. Eating out is always so much fun and cheap, so much better than Britain. I love Bulgogi, Bim Bap, Bipimbap, Kimshi, jin ramyen. I get fat in korea! As for trying new things out, ask the waitress or waitor what they recommend?!? Just pick something random, ini mini minie mo? [/u] |

Any Galbi, kimchi, ramyeon noodles, Mool ning Myeon, and the stews are divine. |

Beef galbi/kalbi all the way. It's gotta be complete with the lettuce leaves, garlic cloves which I can barbeque and dwenjang sauce to dip the meat in.
You walk away reeking of barbequed meat (both your hair and breath), but it's worth it.
I do like other Korean foods a lot, but none of them deserve mentioning in the same post as beef galbi/kalbi. |

Didn't we just do this?
I don't mind bibimbap sometimes, or bulgogi/galbi -- especially with 갰잎 (sesame leaves). Dwenjang or ssamjang on the meat is also nice. |

Kamjatang!! Gotta love that pig-spine soup.
Gop-Chang is also pretty good (fried cow/pig intestines).
I also like Golbengi, Jokkpal and other quick-style stuff like odeng, ramyen and mandu.... Korean food rules! |

My favourite is bulgogi. The other day they added squid to it (school cafeteria), which I didn't enjoy so much. Pork and squid together just doesn't make much sense to me, but that's my personal preference.  |

Bulgogi is excellent, and one of my favorites in the summer is nangmyeon (ice-cold buckwheat noodle soup). Other recommendations include hopang (red bean buns) and buchimgae (meat and vegetables pressed together in a batter - I've also heard this called 'Korean pancakes' by Korean students in the USA).

If you can find a place that does "shabu-shabu" go for it. My favorite style is a spicy broth with loads of mushrooms, to which you first add thinly sliced beef, then handmade noodles, then fried rice. It's quite a meal. Apparently it's more of a Japanese meal than Korea, but it's still pretty popular here.
매운갈비찜 (spicy beef stew) is one of my favorites. Not too complicated. |
