|
|
I am a female traveling back to Korea for a summer of teaching. In the U.S., I have a very difficult time finding pants/slacks that fit like they should. They are either too big in the waist or too long in the crotch, etc.
Has anyone had dress slacks custom made in Korea? In Seoul (Itaewon) or elsewhere? I know they do custom suits for men, but wasn't sure about just getting pants.
The only reason I am specifically curious is because I am going into admin. next year and need to upgrade my wardrobe.
Also, if you do know a lot about this, what is the cost?
Thanks! |

Not sure about cost, but it's easy to do in Itaewon or any other custom tailor. I'm probably going to get a couple pair at Hahns come fall. |

Customised underwear. Now that is a new one to me.
What material do you use?
I would want a silk front with a sating gusset. |

If you don't mind my asking, what is Hahn's?
I taught in Jochiwon, about an hour or two south of Seoul, so I am not hip with the Seoul scene... |

Hahn's is a tailor in Itaewon, near the end on the Noksapyeong side, that has gotten high marks on bespoke tailoring message boards as well as here. I've had suits made there and have been impressed. |

I'm curious about this too, I hear they do tailoring in Osan as well and fairly cheaply? Anyone got a price idea? Thanks. |

If you speak Korean best bet is Jongno. 40,000 for material and tailoring. Not knowing Korean means I ended up with ajossi cut, where the crotch is about a half a foot away from my actual crotch. |

Hahns is on the end near McDonalds, just around the corner, next to that spendy breakfast place...Suri's? Suki's? Something like that. Not too hard to find, just go to the far end of Itaewon St. and round the final corner left. |

The restaurant you're referring to is Suji's (good bfast, but expensive indeed).
You'll pass by some large dog figures, then an optical store, then Hahn's Custom Engraving, and right after that is Hahn's Custom Tailor.
I just picked up some pants from there yesterday; they fit! Besides dress clothes, they also do casual pants made from cotton or a cotton/polyester blend. |

I find the tailors I've been to do the opposite where I have to be careful not to splay when I sit least everyone see my glans... |
