My wife says this is all over the news.

Apparently some foreigners in Korea videotaped themselves on the subway for some reason, talking about how they wanted to have sex with certain girls around them and laughing at how nobody understood what they were saying.

Anyone hear about this? I'm amused to see the video of these morons crucifying themselves.

Really? This qualified as news? Is there something more to the story.

I've translated this article and the video is included too.

A video scene which shows drunken foreigners on a subway train acting wildly and making disparaging remarks about Korean women has been rapidly circulated on the internet and is inccuring criticism from netizens.

If one looks at the videos that have been put up on the famous UCC website at the end of May, one of them that was made public shows 6 foreigners moving from a bar in Gangnam, to the street, and taking the subway on line number 4.

In this video on a line 4 subway train with other passengers there is a scene which shows a sexually suggestive song deriding Korean women as playthings. In the bar scene it shows sexually abusive conduct to an employee as well.

There is also a scene in the street which shows the drunken foreigners being abusive to passerbys.

As the problematic videos are getting shown on domestic portal sites the nezens' criticism is growing.

I thought Koreans like to see foreigners make jackasses of themselves.

In the same vein, many a foreign man would find the constant imaging of FOREIGN WOMEN in the Korean media a bit disparaging as well.

I disagree with one thing, however: Korean media definitely does not focus on the details of Koreans acting like idiots abroad. Sometimes it is dealt with in a very abstract way but specifics, like this example of the foreigners, do not, from my perspective, make national headlines.

Is it newsworthy? Maybe as much as Hyoree's underwear exposure and Ugly Korean stories on Korean tv. When something's hot among netizens, it is usually mentioned on 24 hour cable news or internet news sites at least. No Mika Brzezinski yet on Korean news channels as far as I know. Laughing

So what the hell were those idiots thinking even taking a video and putting it on youtube for everybody to see it? Very disturbing. If they really want to achieve something, they might as well do the same thing on Russian subways.

It's only newsworthy because of the race of the participants. If it were a bunch of Korean boys talking smack about foreign chicks it would have a snowflake's chance in hell of making the TV news.

Someone, quick, get a video camera and head to Bangkok or Angeles City and record drunk Korean doing the same thing... Then send it to the Netizens.

Why go so far away when you can see the exact same thing done by Korean to Koreans in Korea every night?
