"New" 7 wonders? Only 3 of the 21 are not ancient...and several on the list were on the Old 7 wonders. What a crock!

I'd like to hearby officially nominate the Lotteria in Hwasoon, in Jeollanam-do.

Actually only the Pyramids I believe have survived from the original 7 wonders.

The results are in. I think they're pretty good, and most of the ones I voted for are up there. Missing are the Easter Island heads, Angkor Wat, and the Acropolis which I think is cooler than the Colosseum.

I'm a bit disappointed to not see the men's toilets at Uijongbu bus terminal not make the list. Anyone who's used the squatters there knows that they are, indeed, a wonder to behold.

Really.

I think the list is ridiculous. The Christ statue in Rio? That carving in Jordan? The Eiffel Tower is far more famous than both. That's what you get when you let people vote for something on the Internet. Rain winning the Time poll should have been the first clue.

The idea is pretty dumb over all and carries no weight in academia.

Anyone who has been to Petra would certainly never refer to it as "that carving in Jordan." I've been to most of the places on the list...and Petra is the most amazing place I've ever been to, except maybe Giza.

Agreed. It's like calling Westminster Abbey "that church in London."

Simply because it was on the first list, yes.

The Jesus statue seems less like a Wonder of the World and more like a metaphor for Horatio Cane from CSI: Miami (see the most recent season's premier). I'm pretty sure they actually built it in 1931 for CSI.

Yeah I guess these latter day PT Barnum people promoting their new 7 Wonders went to Egypt to meet with the government and the government was, rightly, insulted the pyramids should even be put to a vote.

I'm sorry erecting pyramids 3,000 years ago is a lot more of a wonder than some guys in the 20th century raising a statue.
