I'd prefer to mix in real questions with humorous interludes.
To be honest you haven't been so forthright about the more serious ones, such as:
-nature of your doctorate
-willingness to put your paranormal claims to the test
-and now about the writer of this glowing review.
Most people who read this thread laugh at you outright. I'm asking you to back up your claims with something more than "reiki energy" and trying to hold back my laughter. |
Dear RaceTraitor,
Well, I have previously answered questions number 1 and 2. My PhD is in Pastoral Counseling Psychology from the University of Sedona. It is what it is.
The writer of the review in question is a friend who read the manuscript before publication and chose to post said review.
Concerning testing my claim of assisted spiritual healing, I am simply not interested in "proving" spirituality scientifically. Your interpretation of that disinterest is naturally that I am afraid of "being found out." It does not bother me that that is your interpretation. Of course, there are also the factors of paying for traveling expenses to Mr. Randi's outfit and getting time off to do such a test.
Blessings,
Dr. Paul Daniel Payne

Well I still contest how legitimate a doctorate is from a "metaphysical" university. Also, your explanation for #2 seems implausible.
Thirdly, if you really believe the whole bit about aliens and healing powers, you certainly should reveal them to the world, and what better way than a conclusive scientific demonstration? Imagine if pharmaceutical companies didn't have to submit to all kinds of tests before releasing new medications on the market. As far as we all know, the evil Lord Xenu has disguised himself as Yeshua to fool you, and he will give cancer to anyone you try to heal. |
At what point would evidence become sufficient for you? And to what lengths should others go to prove themselves or their beliefs to you?
Concerning my PhD, I think most posters here have either accepted it, ignored it, or taken it for what it is. I have been up front from the beginning concerning the nature of my PhD. I wanted a New Thought education, and that is what I paid for. I have never claimed it to be something other than what it is.
I do not have the resources to treat the world. I will use the gifts that have been given to me in my sphere of influence, which at this point in time does not include Mr. Randi.
Blessings,
Dr. Paul Daniel Payne

Hubbard was vague about where Xenu was imprisoned, but in no way can we rule out Teegeack. |

I just read this thread from the beginning and I'll add this.
I'm quite certain that everything SeoulUnitarian has written in his book or believes has been written before. There are so many books already out there about communicating with aliens, angels, and whatnot. Having said that, is there anything original in his thought or message? Probably not. Maybe many of you don't know this, so you'll find what he is saying interesting and want to learn more about it. If you do, you might take a chance and buy his book. That's all fine and good. Maybe a few of you will write positive or negative reviews of his book, and then he'll sell more of his books. I'm sure SU hopes so, because obviously the money to open his retreat will come from these sales. Well good luck with that SU... because that's a pretty nice way to earn a living. I'm sure you know that, because there are so many people in the world doing this already. I personally don't care where your degrees are from, but I do think putting 'Dr.' in front of your name should be a red-flag for all of you reading this.
I just want to add also that it doesn't surprise me at all that you are a teacher in Korea. That just makes so much sense to me. I just hope you don't lead anyone in the future to do things that put followers of your's in danger. Should that day come, I hope that you have the courage to take the money and run, before you make choices that put their lives at risk. But I'm sure you have learned from enough people by now, how to run a retreat in a safe manner.
I also hope that you are taking the lessons you learn to heart and that the lives of those around you (who you teach) are improved each day. Because if that is happening, then all is well as far as I'm concerned.
Please send us some pics of your students and their smiling faces. I'm sure everyone around you is happy, so let us see, if just a glimpse, the impact you are having on their lives through pictures.
That's all I have to say for now. |

Dear ajstew,
Thanks for your comments and concerns. I do meditate every morning using some of the meditations Yeshua has given to me. These meditations help me to constantly be aware of the oneness of everything. So I feel that my students and I are one Being, and the meditations give me the peace and energy necessary to teach over 800 students a week.
Here is a picture of one of my lovely classes:

A very sensible post by ajstew with some excellent points.
To me the biggest cliche in Seoulunitarian's story is the part where he says the ET spirit guide possessing him gives him Reiki powers. That's where I shook my head and thought "Not this again."
I'm having trouble picturing Seoulunitarian as a teacher right now. Do you bring up aliens and spiritual possession in class? |

Dear Racetraitor,
Of course I do not bring up such things in class. That would be irresponsible, and is outside of my job description. I utilize the meditation methods given by Yeshua at home, and that peace and sense of oneness overrides everything I do. So the effects are part of my classes.
Blessings,

PS. I have noticed a thread on Randi's website forums pertaining to my claims. I have registered there, and am awaiting approval to post. |

What kind of assignment do you have which involves teaching 800 students a week?
Sometimes I have a hard enough time teaching the few students I have in a small school. |

I teach in a public school, quite large, grades 3 - 6 plus special classes. A total of 32 hours per week, with about 40 students per class. Some of those students are in more than one class though.

We can say one thing for SU:
He replies to all the questions.
Some theists in this forum don't. |

But it does take a few bumps to get him to answer them all, and also not all his answers are totally acceptable. I don't believe he would tell all psychic healing patients to seek medical help, and I think Demophobe and I are both in agreement that the University of Sedona is the Weekly World News of religious universities. |
