Okay, I caved and bought an umbrella.
Just got caught in a massive storm.
How do you people keep your shoes dry/not-ruined?

First rainy season, eh?

I generally try to wear my more waterproof (e.g. leather uppers/rubber sole) shoes or boots.

It's been pretty weak this year. Last year Hangang flooded.

Meh, I was promised a rainy season and that means I expect non stop torrential downpour for at least 10 days with the odd Hurricane or Thaiphoon to boot. Today is a good start but it already seems to be letting up.

I want what I paid to see dagnabbit

I love how the rain falls straight down here, umbrellas actually work. Best 8,000 WON I ever spent.

I also love how it started to pour just after I got out of work tonight. MAGICAL.

Is it just me or aren't you guys counting your blessings a little early?
I thought the rainy does not end until mid August and Typhoon season
even later. Sure the start has been a little weak, but there is still some
time left to go in the rainy season. Right?

I think the Han river flooded around July 16-20th of last year, so it's possible that we could get a lot more rain, but I agree this year hasn't been too bad.

Last year was ROUGH, especially when we caught that hurricane in the middle of rainy season. This year I've been pleasantly surprised, as at least half the days have been dry (if cloudy).

God, last year I wanted to shoot myself. It was two months sodden and without sun down here and it made me incredibly depressed. This year? Mildly aggravating.

Judging by the file name I gave that photo, it was taken on the 16th. You might be right.

For all who think it's been one hell of a rainy season so far, it may not have really started yet.
