I feel like I could really use some relaxing this Saturday and am thinking of going to a jimjilbang in Seoul, either alone or with a friend. If there is one that has nice baths (mokyok/onchon) along with the heated rooms that would be great.

One on the green line near Shinchon is good, as is one on line 7 near Boramae park.

Oh, yeah, and I'm a girl, if that matters...

There are not many with Onchon in the Seoul area. You might want to take a trip down past Asan to Muju resort, they have really nice volcanic water. You can even smell the sulfur!

In Seoul, Kyusu dang in Hongdae is really nice. There is a nice one up in Hwarang-dae. Our favorite is at Yongsan Station (Dragon Hill Spa.) Bring a bathing suit for the shallow outdoor pool.

Have fun!

The five story one in Yongsan is great... its close to Seoul Station.

My favourite, though, is the smaller one in Hongdae. Its hard to find, and underground, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The one in Yongsan was a bit too fragmented for my tastes.

Thanks, you two-

Could you explain how to get to the place in Hongdae (from the subway station)? If I can find it, I just may go there tomorrow....

Thanks again!

I'm curious about that HongDae one and the Shinchon one myself.

Where are they exactly?

Go out exit #5 and walk toward Hapcheong Station. It's in a wedding Hall basement. The place is called Kyusu Dang. Very Nice!!
