Could be other factors involved as well.

ughh.. just read it.

Why do so many reporters misread that 'cost of living' index. The journalist writes that Seoul has one of the highest lodging costs in the world.. way above Tokyo, etc.

But then says that for moderate hotel prices, it's okay. Of course its okay.. those business indexes are for foreign corporate people who want to have the exact same foods and everything else the exact same as their home country.

But for day-to-day regular foreigner experience here who doesn't need to be on corporate western living.. it's a very easy city to live in with a very modest income.

Those cost-of-living indexes are so misleading.. and it really ONLY relates to very high-end business corporate travelers.

Korea ranks eighth in the world in the number of outbound travelers after Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, China, France, Japan and Spain.

Anyone know what the inbound rank is? Low, I bet.

Love the euphemistic opening sentence....."Korea seems to be losing its charm as a tourist destination.....".

Yeah, but the abundance of Korean hospitality more than makes up for the higher cost. Rolling Eyes Wink
