As much as we often criticize the Koreans for their crazy mysterious ways; I wonder if they're watching the foreigners playing in the mud like pigs and saying "what foreign assclowns"

Probably not, as they are forcing me to attend. They are probably thinking "all foriegners must want to attend our great cultural events".

At least they are paying for me to attend. Well the accommodation and transportation at least.

What they are thinking is, "Keep spending money on our booze, restaurants and motels."

I wonder how you say "assclown" in Korean.

Do Koreans participate in this thing, and do Koreans over the age of 12 go? Or is it just a bunch of foreigners running through the mud humping each other's legs?

Where can you access the news story on the Internet?

At the festival, there were far more Koreans in the mud than foreigners. Everyone was having a great time.

Why would having fun in the mud make you an assclown? Sounds like OP has a manicured lawn and keeps guard so no children play on it.

i can't imagine what a petri dish of spilled beer, cigarette butts and bacteria that mudfest would have been. the first time anyone even described it to me i almost threw up in my mouth.

the idea of being covered in mud is disgusting. the idea of being dirty with 1000 other people is retarded.

While the mud fest looks like fun, it is essentially a place for koreans to oogle and laugh at foreigners. Most photos I've seen, in the papers or taken by participants, always have some unmuddied Korean in the background with a telephoto lens.

Because there is a photo contest held during the festival...

Plenty of Koreans go there and get muddy. Family, ajumas and adjosshis having fun with foreigners. It was a nice scene...

It strikes me, from what I've seen, that the photo-journalists are more interested in western women in bikinis than anything else.

This was the second time I've been. My friends and I all had a great time. I think a few people here need to get the stick out of their ass.
