My boss decided last week to give me another week off. But I had already bought my tickets and all for the States so I didn't feel like hassling with changing them. Then my friend suggested I come back for that last week and travel around Korea. Great idea!

So now, what to do, what to do? So far I have figured doing a tour of the DMZ, maybe going wakeboarding (would rather not go alone but everyone else is scared off by the price), and going to the island over by Dokdo. I'm entertaining the idea of heading down south near Makpo to the islands there. I don't want to do Busan or Jeju becuz the plan is to do that for Chuseok. This extra week off will be mid-August.

Any suggestions?

If I had some free time to spend down south, I'd like to first start at Mokpo and visit the harbor there. Then I'd take a ferry to the outlying islands in Shinan county. I'd also visit the islands in Wando and Jindo counties.

Hong-do
Heuksan-do
Bigeum-do - all 3 in Shinan
Cheongsan-do in Wando
Soan-do in Wando

If you give yourself a few days, after going to the DMZ and Ulleung-do, I think I'd hit Hong-do and Heuksan-do.

I took my parents down around Jiri mountain, its beautiful all around that area. There are a bunch of islands connected by bridges that are nice too.

How about Jejudo? Have you been there yet? If not then that would be the first place Id go. A weekend just wouldnt do it justice, so with more time it would be a good place to start.
