Apparently they were evangelicals!!! I hope they come to no harm, but what on earth were they thinking? This story should become the new dictionary definition of stupidity

The thing I hate most about this whole war on terror is how these Christians believe that introducing their imaginary friends to a region with different superstitions is going to solve everything. It's just going to piss them off even more.

All class Steve..all class.

Using the kidnapping of Koreans who went to Afghanistan (a bad move indeed) to spread your little demeaning comments about Korea.

You sir have no shame and no class.

Oh and to be clear, they (the Koreans who went there) are indeed idiots or deluded. This is not a safe zone by any means....but too bad this happened to them and one can only hope they are returned alive and unharmed.

The Korean "evangelicals" I have encountered often go where other evangelicals fear to tread.

They typically go as sort of aid workers. They are more pragmatic - helping at orphanages, making food, lending a hand, etc.

Why are you condemning them, anyways? Their families must be worried sick...

Condemning, no. I think that whilst most people here would support the right of any people to go anywhere as long as they do no harm to others, there is an extreme lack of understanding on behalf of the captured people as to the nature of where they are going and the people they are trying to 'save'. Honestly, take a look at the history of Afghanistan and the number of interfering groups who have suffered far worse fates from meddling in that country.

Was just on KBS2.

The terrorists said "If Korea doesn't withdraw their troops by noon on the 21st, they'll kill 18 hostages."

Didn't a bunch of Koreans get sent home from the Middle East not too long ago? Not sure of the country, wasn't it Afghanistan?? Just goes to show the ridiculousness of religion. (Not hoping any harm comes to them, just saying religion is f#cked)

I feel for them, because I know they meant good, but there are very Islamic places you don't go pushing the bible. It's dangerous to go places like that, even if you are not carrying a bible. I don't go places like that myself, because it's dangerous and fruitless. Afghanistan? That is crazy.

Again, idiots. i didn't read anything about any good deeds these fools were doing, otherwise I'd send mony as ransom, if it would help.

Homer,

I agree and also about Stevie. Seems to him, the world was made for his "ill" one liners.
