Can anyone help me?

I finish my contract with my present school on 23 August when my visa and ARC expire. My new contract starts on 1 September. What do I have to do to remain "legal" in Korea for the week between jobs? Can I go to immigration and arrange to remain here on a tourist visa for 1 week, or must I leave the country on the 23rd?

Thanks.

You can get a visa extension for a few days to a few weeks. If you need a new e2 because of employer change, you'll need to amke the visa trip.

Go to Immigration with your plane/ferry ticket and ask them to extend your stay period for the week. It's free. Then go on the visa run and get your new work visa.
