I had a fast food fix yesterday while I was walking home and I didn't really feel like BK or McDonalds...so I tried Lotteria.
I was pleasantly surprised.
First of all, I'd like to say that Lotteria has the most extensive menu out of any of the other fast food chains in Korea. They have burgers, chicken burgers, shrimp burgers, squid burgers, bulgogi burgers, rice burgers(!), fried chicken, motzarella sticks, and even a boneless pork-rib sandwhich (looks just like a McRib!)
I ordered the Paprika Bacon Beef Burger. It got kinda cold on my walk home, but it was still pretty good. Good amount of veggies, the bacon was crispy and salty. They use some kinda bbq/bulgogi sauce and it did the trick.
I might have to try some of the other stuff on their menu like the European Frico Cheeseburger. Anybody tried it yet??
Anyways, for those looking to statisfy their fast food fix and want to try something new, I recommend this place. |

Dealbreaker highlighted. I can't abide by bulgogi sauce on fast food. |

aaawww~ you don't like bbq sauce on your burger? you know, like a hickory burger...i mean that's what it tasted like...hmmm maybe it was barbeque sauce. I just didn't want to rule out the possibility that it could've been bulgogi sauce as well because...after all, this is Korea. |

European Frico Cheesburger?
I guess Europeans have larger mouths than Americans. And what's that frico thing between the tomato and the patty? |

I don't eat pork, but enjoy the cheese sticks and chicken fillets. |

i went to Lotteria a couple of times but they put way too much mayonnaise on there. i did think the meat and veggies were good for fast food, though. i figure it's just that particular restaurant, kinda like some Hardee's do the same thing. so does anybody know how to say "go easy on the mayo!" in Korean? |

The two worst burgers I've ever had were from a stall at Express Bus Terminal and from Lotteria.
I rarely eat fast food and only do so if there is no good alternative.
Lotteria can die in fire. |

Barbecue sauce yes, bulgogi sauce no. My experience with Lotteria leads me to believe they put bulgogi sauce on everything. |

it's not so big. The burger I had looked about that big in the picture, but it was no bigger than a big mac. I believe the darker piece is the burger patty and the lighter brown piece is the "frico". It supposed to be a fried cheese patty |

I can't stand the sickly sweet sauce they put in the burgers. |

What is it? Like 3,000 Won for 2 sticks? I was upset the first and only time I ordered it. My biggest complaint is their ketchup. I really don't like Korean ketchup or mustard. Heinz is the trully the best on fries.
I will give Lotteria credit as they've come a long way since I first went there 12 years ago. |

About half of Lotteria's burgers are tolerable and half are disgusting; I can never seem to remember which are which. Their chicken is abysmal - frozen, battered chicken legs and wings and processed 'bre*st' meat dumped in the deep frier. None of their side dishes look very appealing, either.
McDonald's and KFC here are hardly any better. For whatever reason, Burger King is the only fast-food outlet here that has a menu full of stuff I'd actually want to eat. Not including Subway, of course. I'd gladly walk an extra mile to go there. |
