Do you watch CNN?

Me, I have trouble swallowing the thick sandwich of self-glorifying house ads and ads for luxury hotels to get at the thin slice of lunch meat they call news. And I am not interested in cricket or yacht racing.

Am I missing anything?

Well, it might have been interesting to see this interview of Roseanne Barr by Larry King. It seems Larry refuses to let anyone show him how to use the Internet, saying "What do you punch little buttons and things?"

When Barr offered to show him, he basically said it was a woman's thing, and he wasn't interested.

This is what they have been hyping with all their self-congratulatory house ads about Larry King's anniversary?

http://thinkprogress.org/2006/11/15/larry-king-internet/

Sounds like CNN needs to hire Roseanne Barr. But it won't happen because CNN isn't CNN anymore; it's Time-Warner (AOL). And a big corporation like that is in the business of making money, not making people mad.

So here's what I would like to tell CNN management:

Cut out the house ads and run news, instead. More people will watch, including me. CNN is supposed to be a 24-hour news channel, not a 1 hour news channel/23 hour hype channel.

There. I feel better already.

I would tell people like Wolf Blitzer: "Well done. Keep it up."

Yeah, that's what they have on the cable system here in Korea. It's the only CNN I can get.

Am I missing something?

How do you watch Headline News, and how do you watch it while running???

It would be interesting to put the programming side by side with the other CNN feeds to see the differences.

Easiest response ever: then do not watch CNN. Watch something else.

I would like them to quadruple, at least, the number of stories they cover on any given day. Also, and I know that this is cliche, I would really like for a celeb news to be tossed in the garbage can. Larry King should be moved to 3 am and forced to interview people with minds and ideas. Also, the ticker has got to go. Lou Dobbs should go too. More in-depth stories. And so on.

Speaking of, Blohan is on the way to the clink. I love it!

yeah cnn intl. is dull and boring these days. Not sure why anyone would choose it over BBC world. Hell, Al-Jazeera in English shows more news than CNN does.

Dump Wolf Blitzer- he is dumb, dull and repetitive. Besides that I guess he is okay. Except for his short man complex. Did I say boring?

Dump Lou "never met an immigrant I liked, except my wife" Dobbs. His brand of mindless, stereotype peddling populism has no place on the news. He is worse than shameless. If he is so concerned about the war on the middle class, I think he should enlist for the front lines.

Even Anderson Cooper is completely over exposed. Please, he cried in New Orleans. This does not make him a world class newsman.

If you think CNN International is bad, try the domestic version. Confused

Well, then. Seems to take care, yet again, of what you stand against. What news sources do you people approve of, if any?
