Any graduates of York University? I am sure the area around it is not as nice as that of the one found in McGill and Concordia in Montreal, but at least it is connected to Toronto. What can you tell me about how it feels to go there. It is one of the places on my list. I am not going there to party, but a decent social atmosphere would be nice, at least. I don't live in libraries and for being surrounded by books as much as I like them.

Never went there, but I have a few friends that are profs there, and a few more who went to grad school there.

It's far from downtown. I don't think there is much of a "scene" there.

But you could position yourself at Yonge and Egg/Sheppard and be between school and downtown, and close to Koreatown. A lot of York students in those areas.

When I was a student at the Univ. of Toronto, I used to visit my bud up at York. The school is an ugly, isolated place, and some of Canada's meanest neighbourhoods are pretty close to it.

Avoid York!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll second Roch on that...I'm from Toronto. York is a nasty place...not sure about the quality of the actual school, but the campus and the neighbourhood are charmless and not really safe.

I'll third that. My sister went to school there and I used to visit her all the time. The area kinda sucks and the neighborhood around there is bad. When she was a student there, she told me there was a new missing girl poster every month.
