I posted this elsewhere, but it is probably of interest to those applying to CDI!

I keep getting emails and insulting responses to my posts from this guy who claims to teach at CDI --he talks a lot about how its a good place to work. I have a LOT of reasons to doubt he is a teacher. For more information, please read my post below:

ALERT!! Potential CDI candidates.

I posted some notes about my experiences at CDI and since have been harassed by this guy "Rogue871." I have come to realize that he is NOT a native English speaker. I don't believe that he teaches at CDI. I'm guessing that he works for CDI and his job is to sway people over by posting lies. I wouldn't trust anyone on here to give you advise about working there unless you know 100% that they are legit.

For example, here is an email that Rogue recently sent me:

Ahh little Jisoni,

Changing your tune already...backing out of making 50,000/hr at CDI and now trying to say you did so at a university.

Your bad luck is that you bumped into someone at dave's esl who knows more about CDI and makes more than you.

Too bad from my emails that you didn't realize who you were dealing with....you play a bluff game but the fact that I called you on it should of made you understand that either I am bluffing or, you are over your head.

You should of tucked tail and slunk off while you could.

Cut your losses now is still an option.

____
First of all "tucked tail" is obviously not a typo. Its something that only a non-native speaker would write. Additionally, "Cut your losses now is still an option" is clearly a mistake that a native speaker of KOREAN would make. Finally, this email was in response to something I wrote back to Rogue, stating that I make over 50,000 an hour now. His response shows that he really had no idea what I was saying (I NEVER said that I was "backing out of making 50,000" (btw-also grammatically incorrect). He doesn't speak English well and couldn't understand my email!

SO, if you are looking for a job at CDI, please please ask someone who is definitely a current expat employee or former employee. Anyone who wants, feel free to PM me. I'm moving back to Seoul in September.

Or, just don't work at CDI. End of story.

The OP has a point...I have come across a few kiss-butt Gyopo's who will do anything..and I mean anything to make their master happy. Sometimes they are just Koreans with reasonably okay English skills.
