This rainy season hasn't been bad at all! I remember years when my sandals didn't dry out for DAYS and laundry took forever to dry.
I finally broke down and bought an AC about 6 weeks ago. I'm using it for the second time tonight. As the saying goes...it's not the heat...it's the humidity. Pretty sure it will be off before morning, though.
Ah....the joys of NOT living in a big city!! |

I got an air coniditioner. Spent most of a quarter of a month's salary on it, and it's likely tripling my global warming footprint. I'm comfortable at the moment. Got a coupla good friends, seldom visit their houses in the summer cuz all they have is fans blowing the air around.
The Bobster's cool. The Bobster's always cool.

No, actually, I don't. It's too depressing. |

I've actually been surprised as well. I saw a few pics from previous rainy seasons (with the Han really high and all that) and braced myself. With the way the Koreans talk about their rainy season, you would think you were in the Amazon or something, having to paddle to work in rowboats.
I spent last fall at the tail end of the Nicaraguan rainy season, and then a week in the Nica rainforest at the beginning of theirs- now THEY really know how to do one right. |

I haven't really turned my AC on unless it was in a bizarre attempt to keep my laptop from overheating...
I am pretty content to leave my main big sliding windows open all the time (I leave it open so my turtles can get unfiltered sunlight) and I open my bathroom window which leads to a nice cross wind in my apartment. The only minor downside is the mosquitoes but I am somewhat fortunate in that mosquitoes in Korea don't like me |
