I paid for my trip home- 1.6 million Seoul-Cali, Cali-Seoul. I paid a month in advance and then took off. I paid half credit card, half cash.
So I get home and buy some things. One day my credit card is declined. Okay, haven't used the internet in a while, but I get on the KEB website and it shows an extra 800,000 won charge on my account the day before I left.
And now the bastards aren't replying to e-mails. Any advice on what to do now? |

Contact the credit card company and report fraudulent activity. |

This is Korea...
"Your not Korean, you cannot use a Credit Card here"
I was told that bluntly when I tried to purchase a plane ticket with my international VISA credit card.
However, I never had a problem with the same VISA card in Hong Kong, Macao, Japan while shopping, or in the Bank of China when withdrawing funds.

Kangsan Travel in Busan is a good company.
I have used them often and know many others who do.
The error could have to do with your half cash/half card initial payment which may have resulted in a mixup somewhere.
They are not a fly-by-night group or bunch of hucksters. Phone them. |

I assume you do have a receipt for the cash payment you made? Kangsan Travel here in Seoul is notorious for not replying to emails promptly. I wouldn't go off the deep end yet but, in Korea you never know... |

Id second that. They stink at emails but are really great on the phone, at least in my experience. |

Kangsan in Busan is a solid company... they once mistakenly thought they overbilled me and without my advance knowledge deposited money back into my bank account. It turned out to be a clerical error and in fact there had been no mistake. I ended up sending the money back to them.
Pretty honest people IMO. I have dealt with Alice in Busan on three occassions. Great service. |

Yeah, sounds like a mix-up. i've gone through them many times and no problems. i've found it's better to phone them than to mess around with emails to avoid communication errors. i recently bought a ticket with them and there were lots of miscommunications through email, so i just rang them up and i had my ticket within a few minutes, the receipt the next day in the mail. |

I was told by a businessman here that some Korean businesses don't like to take foreign credit cards because it can take up to 30 days to get the payment from Visa or Mater Card international.
Credit cards from Korean based banks only take about a week to send payment. |

I would agree with most of the posters, the staff at Kangsan are good people, the owner is serious Richard Cranium. Highly probable that is an error. Make a phone call and I'm sure you will be able to quickly resolve the problem. |
