Can I take my bike on a bus, put it in the luggage compartment underneath? Has anyone done this? I want to get down to Goejedo to do some cycling there. Anyone got any advice or info on biking round Goeje?

Shouldn't be a problem unless there is too much luggage on board. I have a fold up bike I take on the subways, I know that would fit no problem in the bottom of a bus.

What about fold up bikes on city buses, has anyone tried that?

You can throw your bike in the luggage on the large buses, on the city buses however I wouldn't try it. It's cramped enough as it is.

You can however take in on the subway fairly easily, try to go at off peak hours and get in either of the end trains where there's a nice wall to stand against, or if nobody's using it you can stand in the handicap section.

You'll get some weird looks maybe but they'll get over it.

Yeah, you can almost always put your bike in the under-storage compartments of intercity and express buses. I say almost always because once out of 30 or so times, now, the bus and compartments were too full and I had to wait for the next bus.

You can almost never take your bike on a regular city bus in any city... unless its a folding bike.

You can almost always take your bike on the subway as long as you go to the first or last car.

If people can bring their pets and drunked old men on the bus...a bike shouldn't be a problem.
