The most wonderful fake flesh I ever tried was in a restaurant in Beijing. I spotted it in the Lonely Planet guide where it had good reviews. My sister and I cycled halfway through Beijing until we found it. Due to the ancient Buddhist tradition still practised by some, the Chinese have developed the most wonderful imitation meat dishes. I especially liked the fake Peking Duck.

In the UK, I was introduced to Linda McCartney's range of fake meat by a boyfriend who (on hearing I was a vegetarian) rushed home and cleaned out his fridge of meat and stocked his freezer and fridge full of her stuff (and confessed later). I had never tried meat substitutes before and it was quite novel. I especially liked the sausages and the fake minced steak pies. Is the Linda McCartney stuff still available in the UK?

One of my US army friends had a communal rubber vagina they nicknamed Vanessa that was passed around among him and his roommates.

I guess it wasn't the best fake flesh though.

Once I had vegan 돈까쓰 at a Buddhist place in Yangjae. It was pretty good.

I don't really do fake meat much, aside from the occasional veggie burger on the grill ( homemade ones don't stand up to the grill well) but I think I might have went to the same place in Beijing. Good stuff!

I had some great tasting fake sweet and sour chicken or pork or whatever meat it was supposed to be at the Buddha's Birthday festival in Insadong. It was manufactured by a company based in Korea but unfortunately I can't remember the name. If anyone knows where to get this fake asian-style meat in Seoul, please post. Thanks:-)

The best tasting fake meat I've ever had was at Grasshopper Veggie Restaurant in Boston (Allston-Brighton area) USA. That place also had the most extensive vegetarian menu I've seen.

I don't like fake meat. It's too processed. If you want something good, two words: portobello mushrooms. *drool*
