What are some good games that have been road tested out there for teaching adults? I would be looking for games that are oriented toward conversation.

20 questions I have used and it is OK
same for the Yes./No game

one i use is top 3.

the students are in groups of 3 or 4 and must select their top 3 from a set category (countries, people, ways of studying english etc.) they must decide in groups which their top 3 will be (you are looking for disagreement within the groups so they can use their english to argue their point). when all the groups have made their choice, each group must defend their choices until a vote for the final top 3 for all the groups together is reached. it sounds easy but it actually test a variety of english skills, such as listing, forming opinions, supporting opinions, making comparative sentences etc. easy and fun!

Ok, for Jeopardy, while the real thing might be out of reach still there is a version of categories and questions posted on Daves somewhere. Works like a charm and they learn something in the class.
