I'm beginning to explore employment opportunities outside of Korea. I recently completed a resume and cover letter and stored them on my " ee dong shik " as .hwp files.

I sent out a few inquiries by e-mail and was informed that my documents couldn't be opened and would have to be completed in Microsoft Word. I live in Masan, don't own a personal computer, don't want to work in Korea next year, and need to find a place to type my documents in Word.

Has anyone out there ventured into a PC bahng ( Masan or elsewhere ) and happened upon Microsoft Word? Please let me know. I'll take a weekend trip to a different city if I have to. Thank You !!!

Find a Korean who speaks English and has a computer.... They should have both .hwp and Word... Converting the document takes about 2 minutes...

in hwp do a save as and just rtf or doc.

the formatting may be a little wonky though, but it will be openable by word. If you are at a pcbang and it doesn't have word, google open office and install it. It's free open source office suite that will save as a word file. or you could also use google docs.

you can install any software on the pc bangs.

Some BC Bangs have a section designated as a "Business Zone" or some such thing and they have Office installed there. Just ask or look around. Good luck!
