I love British class snobbery. For the record, a track suit or baggy pants is no more ridiculous than khakis and a button down shirt. White trash.. whats the word for black or Asian trash?

B Boy Stance, y'all

Unfortunately, chavness is really just the youth fashion of the British working/unemployed class nowadays. Most of these people you see in these pics are just young people doing what their friends are doing. Just fitting in. Which is excatly what I did when I was a teenager. They should be judged individually. Many are nice kids who have good parents. They just dress that way...............but a lot are anti-social little shites who make life a misery for the decent people of their neighborhoods.

Why is it unfortunate? As you say, it's just a style.

I know, I know, but it's a style that has become associated with ignorance, petty crime and drinking cider while yelling insults at your neighbors.

That don't all do that, but put on those trackies, gold chains, and gel down your fringe and that's what people will think you do.

Actually my initial plan was to pretend to be an anti-racism skinhead who is hiding in East Asia because they couldn't survive back home. Unfortunately, you beat me to it...

Yeah, I'd say some wigged-out Yank posse from the 'burbs would have these pasty-faced punks beat in authentic wiggerness. But, in a fist fight, I'd bet in favor of the Chav posse.

Just out of interest, eamo, what kind of look was "in" when you were a teenager?

They actually look like the "Russian Mafia" that ran in my school. Track suits, gold link chains, hair gel that last for days and somewhat snotty attitudes....Mind you this was back in 95~99.

In North America we usually refer to them as posers. Haven't see very many here as english teachers. Most of those you see in Korea are in the US military.
