his record "shadows on the sun" is one of my favorite hiphop albums of all time. he's just badass, angry and takes no prisoners. he's an albino, too. |

The opening is from Nina Simone's song Mississippi Goddamn. A much better song, by the way.
Beyond that, his politics scream ignorance and he has to show race riot footage that's 40 years old because the government he's attacking so lyrically freed the slaves and ended segregation. Wasn't done quick and easy, but it was done. I'd like to see him do a song about all African nations that practice slavery to this day. And the KKK imagery is also bunk. In a report I read awhile back they have barely 5000 members nationwide. Hardly a problem.

Wow, it's funny to see people writing about him in Korea. I'm living in Minneapolis at the moment, where he's absolutely huge. I thought, aside from him doing sxsw and having an underground hip hop fanbase, he was just a Minnesota phenomenon. |

Were it just a about the war, okay, maybe. But is he being segregated off to different drinking fountains and made to sit in the back of the bus? Been whipped recently? Don't think so. His song puts forth the idea that the racism of decades ago is alive and while, and that's just stupid.
But pray-tell, what is his beef?
