I understand the limit on check on luggage is 2 pieces at 50 pounds each for cattle class and 2 pieces at 70 pounds each in business or 1st class. 100 pounds in the cargo hold was more than enough for me, while having a 30 pound college student backpack and briefcase as carry on. It's one carry on and one personal item such as a briefcase, purse, or other case.

The only real kicker about NWA is you don't get enough water to drink during the long haul as you can't take your big bottle of water with you and they are understaffed on stewards and stewardesses. You can only take tiny 3 ounce bottles of liquids.
