I got a Logiutech QuickCam Messenger and I'm using it on Vista. The mic is not working correctly. I tested the Mic on my laptop and everything works fine.
Here's what happens:
When I record video with sound, the sound plays back 2 times faster thant he video on playback. Also, when I just record sound via Windows Sound Recorder, that plays back twice as fast.
Its not a hardware issue. I updated the sound drivers. From what I can guess is that while the sound is being recorded, something is getting screwed up when it is encoding the sound to a file. So during playback it doesn't play back like it should.
