Hello!

Can anyone help with some good directions for getting to Tin Pan or Tin Pan 2 in Hongdae.

Assume you would be explaining it to someone who just recently arrived to Korea and would be taking the subway to Hongik station and/or if they took a cab to the area.

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Jason

Everyone knows that place

Just go there and ask people.

But the place is a bore.

Tin pan and tin pan 2 are across from each other.

Hi...I would like to be a bit more specific than that!

I have about 10 people who have been in the country for about 2-5 days who will be coming out, so it would be helpful to give them a bit more specifics.

I haven't been to either place myself, but am familiar with most other major places in Hongdae. Any other suggestions on a place to meet would be welcomed as well!

Don't go to Hongik station take line 6 to Sangsu station, take exit 3 (I think ) and walk up towards the University.
Take the first major road to your left (after about 250m) and they should be the first bars you come across, both in the basement.
Ask any whitie you see for directions as they're bound to know.

if you follow this map, the 3 way intersection where "saab", "hooper", "dd" and "US 66" are - it's the same one where the 2 tinpans are. it's on the road perpendicular to the long diagonal one that comes from sangsu station.

if you're going from honggik station, you're going to be coming up that road that comes up vertically from the bottom-left-hand corner of the map. that road comes straight up from honggik station. the station would be on the map if it was a bit bigger. the walk is about the same from both stations, maybe shorter from sangsu.

and now my 2 cents - tinpan is 1. a douche magnet and 2. plays some of the worst music i've ever heard.

Thanks for the great map! Very helpful and helpful directions as well.

I also appreciate the advice on the place itself...I haven't been there before. But, we have a group of between 50-100 people so it's going to be hard to please everyone...we're just going to start with some drinks there and move on from there.

If you happen to be in the area, I'll have to buy you a tequila shooter. Just ask around for Jason from ASK Now and let me know you were the one that helped with the map! (I hope I don't get 50 ppl claiming to be you Ubercheisse)

Thanks again.

Tinpan is okay, as long as you know what you're getting into. Both Tinpan 1 and 2 serve one purpose and one purpose only: they're meat markets. If you want to chill out, go somewhere else. If you want just enough sleaze and the prospect of a little interracial sex provided you have some game, then Tinpan is the place to be.

uh.... if you're planning on getting a group of more than 10 into either tinpan on a busy night, get there early. one thing about douchebags is that there's a wealth of them in any city, and they tend to roam and congregate in packs, like bacteria. so go early, stake out a few tables and hope that the legendary "jumping hepatitis" doesn't getcha.

Also, US66 is now GONE. It doesn't exist anymore. Some coffee shop is there now. So don't look specifically for that place.

You will see TONS of white people all over the area. Most are sure to know TIN PAN.

just get drunk. i probably couldn't find the place sober, but whenever i got drunk in hongdae, i always seemed to end up there. tin pan must have some kind of drunken waygook electromagnet hidden under the floorboards or something.

or, it's just lucky that feces are affected by gravity. both bars are downstairs. is there a connection, perhaps?
