We have one bathroom here for the seven people in our lab, plus anyone in the building that may be using our two adjoining conference rooms. Now I think its pretty simple: you pull the last sheets off the roll of toilet paper, you should replace it with a new roll, right? But apparently im everyones janitor here at work, because I am the new grad student and constantly refilling the T.P. holder. In fact I learned long ago to check before taking a seat because I seem to be the only one with the skills necessary to open a cabinet, unwrap a roll of toilet paper and slip it onto the holder.

The other day, as Iwas unwrapping the second roll in the same day I happened to notice that under the brand name on the label were the words facial quality. Is that for people who have their heads up their...er...I mean....somewhere other than on their shoulders? Just wondering I miss those high tech korean toilets with built-in electronic bidets.

BTW I'm working on photonic crystals at optical and microwave frequencies, quantum computing and communication using the usual STM and fascinating plasmon.

Lesson to be learned is:

Don't take a dump at work; wait until you get home.

Do what I do. I take with me those military field TP packs and dissolving soap strips. You should be able to get them at many camping supply stores.

Geesh, man I am just a graduate student... I don't buy any supplies.
I think I should stop refilling the toilet paper unless it's part of my job description. If I keep doing it people will continue to take it for granted that it's done. In fact I'll bet most people don't even realize that i'm the one who refills it.

Let them think about it for a while. Razz

"Wet Ones" and "Tidy Wipes" or any one of a variety of moist towellettes.

They all come in nice little pocket size packets.

Take 'em anywhere, who needs TP.

We always have a boxes of kleenex type tissues as toilet paper that a janitor women brings in the evenings, kinda strange. Our janitors only clean floors, but not sinks, toilets, desks, or anything else.

Yea, it's awkward having only one unisex bathroom for 10 Korean women, 6 foreign men and a hundred little kids to use. I hate it how I make Korean women uncomfortable when we end up in the bathroom at the same time. It frustrates me a little that an employer can be so cheap here as to have inadequate restroom facilities. This would be a serious issue in any western workplace, because it is not professional to be using the womens room and going to bathroom with your students, especially if you're male. Korean women are modest like American women, but they have to grin and bear it since complaining about such a thing is out of the question.

I'll repost...

Blynchie, I'm sorry you don't have friends and you feel desperate enough to stalk me around daves message boards, but i don't like you.
I like laughing at you, and you make it really easy and all, but get some pride, will ya?

You provide me with some great comic relief while i slave away at my dissertation. I wish i could use you as subject matter, but you're rather one dimensional, and I'm not studying Down's Syndrome.

What kind of moron, who has nothing to do with korea or ESL, hangs around a Korean ESL website, anyway?

You need help . Go to church. Maybe they can do something for you.
Go stalk your church buddies, freak.

And, yes, I still spell it Down's Syndrome.

GIve em a call.

I'm a little disappointed in this thread. I thought he was going to complain about you, but instead there's this drivel about toilet paper.

When I don't have toilet paper, I wipe my ass with my hand and soap backwards under the tap and then wash my hands after that.

Dry with towel.

I'm disappointed too. Blynchie is like those old Colecovision video games. Cheap, easy to play, and rather boring.

Yeah the title is a little misleading. WTF does toilet paper have to do with "THE EYE sucks!"? I was expecting a misplaced rant about on-line life, ethics, etc.

Weak dude. Weak.

He thinks he's being witty.

What a sicko. No wonder people think he's a janitor.

Sorry dude, I've been wiping with the towel.

Maybe it's Blynchie's brown eye that sucks, is that possible?

What about short people who can't get their azz up over the sink ledge? I am not vertically challenged, but it occurs to me this is not a universally realistic solution.

I'm not suggesting you refill anything. The stuff I'm talking about is for your personal use. A TP pack is just enough for one user's one use. The dissolving soap strips also are just good enough for one use. Another option is to get yourself some "mul tissue" but make sure you get the fragrance free kind.

When I worked at a hagweon, I used to also take with me spray disinfectant due to the indescribably nasty practice of Koreans putting their used TP into an open trash can next to the commode.

I do suggest that you quit doing janitorial work in the rest room. Next thing you know, you'll be the school janitor. Forget that noise!
