Bodybuilders get a raw deal from popular opinion. Bodybuilding, when done sincerely is a form of Zen. Early in a bodybuilders efforts there is a vanity and it evokes jealous disdain or appreciation but shortly after that that dedicated bodybuilders shun public display. They wear heavy concealing clothes and use backways to go about their business.

Ultimately having big muscles isn't about looking intimidating or outragous, its about having every muscle accounted for and trained and you have to display that during competition. Its a real clean house idea. Every muscle counts. The judges have a very comprehensive list and they do check.

Ted Nugent - "The Land Inside Of Your Mind" . Bodybuilding can send you on trips to take your mind and body to where it never was before for a few fleeting moments. Its a good trip.

It's not that I disrespect the amount of work it takes to get there, or don't appreciate the dedication and level of commitment, I just personally don't find it attractive. Everyone is attracted to different things, and for me, this just isn't it.

You keep missing the point and horribly so. It ain't about looking good for you or looking good even for the builders. Its never about looking good. Its never about looking. Its about control. These peoplea are meditators and they are athletes. You have to gauge performance and you do that by somehow measuring muscle mass. Runners run fast, swimmers swim fast, builders build large muscles. Thats the sport or meditation.

You were talking to yourself with that sentence.

She's talking about what she finds physically attractive.

You still keep missing the point. I don't understand why you made the point, "I don't like how they look". Why is that relevant? I understand there is a great big giant peacock effect of large muscles built into the human psyce. I tried to have you understand to look past that.

The men or women you see on the stage are not interested in looking good in a suit or a dress, they don't want to steal your girlfriend, they aren't cruising for poontang. Its about Zen. "Trust the steal" the man says. Vanity is way off the radar. It looks like they look at themselves alot but you keep missing their real pont of view.

I think runners look ugly. Archers and equestrians do nothing for me either way. I just don't make a point of it.

Because that was her response to the video. You were the one running off on a tangent after the fact.

Damn straight I went off on a tangent. A discussion with the public about building usually has the comments "stupid and ugly" involved in it somehow. Builders are big and dumb. Well I'm big and dumb because bulding was one of the few sports I was involved in because it was one of the few sports I seemed to excel at. I dropped out of life for a year and spent most of that time in the gym. I got big quick. People made comments, insecure men acted aggressively and I got laid way more.

It gets old having people pick fights so often so you just don't wear the tight shirts in public. People treat you like a freak.

It have been hard for me to compete because my hips are too big and need cosmetic surgery but none the less, I learned to appreciate the high of the break-point failure and the discipline and the value of protecting what I made. When you lift, you can have no break in routine. No trips, no vacations. You count calories like a miser counts pennies.

Builders are very much the same people like in Kung Fu, the Shaolin priests. They teach disciple and focus and mental cleansing. Exact same people, just a different culture. There is alot of beauty involved.

Hmm. You know you sound insecure since you went off on a tangent then accused other people of not getting it. Maybe you need to get back to the gym.

If you read my second response, I said I did understand the amount of dedication and commitment it took to get that way. I have two good friends who both compete internationally. They do quite well for themselves, and work very hard. I have had plenty of conversations with them both about the amount of time and effort they put into what they do.

My comment wasn't about disrespecting what they do. It was about what I personally find attractive. You say I don't get it? I watched the video, made a comment, and you went off on a tangent. I never once disagreed with you about what you were saying, but you're still harping at me because of my personal opinion.

Like I said, I respect the amount of dedication and effort that goes into crafting your body like that, but personally don't find it attractive. If I am respecting your opinion, you should learn to also accept others.

Heh. Those dudes are freaks. Like these guys, except they took the harder way to look weird. Hours in the gym or hours of surgery/tattooing needles.

To each their own...
